Supporting Webster on this leg of the tour is Latin pop artist Maye. Maye has been making music since 2019, which was when she released her first three singles “My Love,” “Tú,” and “Moody.” At 8 PM, Maye took the stage. Immediately, the crowd fell in love as could be seen in the fact that, unlike normal crowds during openers, everyone was quiet and attentive. Only paying attention to Maye. She performed some of her Spanish songs and her 2023 released singles, such as “Kaleidoscope.” During her set, she explained that her name wasn’t pronounced like Faye’s but rather “My-aye”
After Maye’s set, suspense-filled the air as they waited for Faye. She started at a little after 9 PM and opened with “But Not Kiss,” a new single she released during the summer this year. She also played a few of her songs that trended on TikTok, such as “Right Side of My Neck” and title track “I Know I’m Funny haha.” During the chorus of “Jonny Suite,” Faye let the crowd take the reins as they screamed the lyrics at the top of their longs. Occasionally, a guy would come out on stage and help with equipment and Faye introduced him as her brother Jack, so naturally the fans repeatedly chanted “Jack” to thank him for his work.
As we were getting closer to the end of the set, Faye and her band performed a cover of an instrumental Pokémon song “Eterna City.” Genuinely, a song any audience would not expect to hear live. Soon after, she played an unreleased song, “Wilco Type Beat,” that had the fans super excited. Before she left for a break in between encore, she performed “Cheers.” When she came back, she introduced the next song as a dumb song she made which was also unreleased, “Feeling Good Today.” As the night came to an end, she closed with one of her top-streaming songs from her album Atlanta’s Millionaire Club, “Kingston.”
Her tour will close soon in her hometown, Atlanta, GA. Next summer, she’ll be headed off to Australia and New Zealand for another leg of tour.

WEBSTER, Texas – Construction continues at several areas in Texas, including in Houston’s Clear Lake area.
The City of Webster, in particular, is seeing several construction projects, including the Great Wolf Lodge, and a brand new In-N-Out, both are slated to open sometime next year.
On the other side, Texas will have its first Universal theme park that’s geared towards younger kids.

In-N-Out Burger
Located within the new shopping center anchored by H-E-B at 122 El Dorado Blvd, it’s the Houston area’s fifth restaurant.
According to Mike Abbate, assistant vice president of real estate and development for In-N-Out, construction of the restaurant is said to take approximately eight to night months to complete and have it open for business.
The new shopping center on Gulf Freeway and El Dorado began construction in early 2021 with the new H-E-B making its grand opening late Winter 2021.
Flyway
Flyway is a 120-acre new development located next to the newly-planned Great Wolf Lodge.
According to the developers in a KPRC 2 report on July 7, 2022, Flyway will focus more on family and friendly entertainment with 1.6 million square feet of restaurants, retail stores, and an event lawn for movie nights and outdoor concerts.
Chicken N’ Pickle is currently the only restaurant confirmed to be joining Flyway.
A completion date for Flyway is not set at this time.
Great Wolf Lodge
Great Wolf Lodge broke ground in Webster as the second-ever location in Texas back in September.
Turner, Great Wolf’s construction partner, said approximately 600 construction and trade workers are working each day during the peak of construction.
The new indoor waterpark is set to complete in mid to late 2024.
Shops at Baybrook
A new shopping and restaurant space is being built across from I-45 and Bay Area Boulevard as part of a refresh on one of Webster’s bustling roads, often referred to as the “Westheimer of Clear Lake.”
Several restaurant concepts, including Kura Revolving Sushi, Shake Shack and Wild Fork Foods are among several restaurants on the tenant list.
The row of new restaurants is scheduled for a late 2023 completion.

Universal Studios
Theme park goers no longer need to take a trip to either California or Florida any longer -- because Universal Studios is bringing a family-friendly theme park near Dallas.
According to the Associated Press, the new theme park, aimed at children, offers opportunities for meet-and-greet characters, interactive shows, and rides. However, it is expected to about a quarter size of the company’s theme parks.

The Great Wolf Lodge in Webster has an opening date, and reservations are now open.
Nearly a year after breaking ground on the more than $200 million project, New York-based general contractor Turner Construction placed the final external beam on the structure on Aug. 30 to applause from workers, Great Wolf executives and city of Webster officials.
“Today’s topping out is an important milestone now because we can forecast our opening day,” said Bryson Heezen, director of development for Great Wolf Resorts.
That day is Nov. 15, 2024, but the hope is to complete the project even sooner. The company now accepts reservations for one- or multiple-night stays after that date. Those using the promo code “countdown” when making an online reservation before Sep. 10 will receive a discount for stays between Nov. 15, 2024, and Feb. 28, 2025.
Great Wolf Texas Gulf Coast, an indoor water park with a hotel and entertainment, is being built on a 27-acre site east of Interstate 45, just south of the NASA Bypass and adjacent to a Topgolf.
It’s the Chicago-based company’s first resort in the Houston area and second in Texas after Grapevine in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The 95,000-square-foot indoor water park will include a variety of slides, raft rides, activity pools and splash areas.
The 532-key hotel will feature various types of family-friendly suites, including Great Wolf-themed suites with separate rooms for kids, designed as either a log cabin or wolf den with bunk beds.
Between the hotel and water area will be a 61,000-square-foot family entertainment area called Great Wolf Adventure Park with arcade, bowling, miniature golf and a live-action-adventure game called MagiQuest, where players use interactive magic wands to battle goblins and dragons.
Food options will include anything from pizza and burgers to ice cream and upscale dining.
In addition, the resort will have retail components and 15,800 square feet of flexible conference space with breakout rooms.
“As mayor, it is an honor to lead a team who had the vision and drive to transform 36 acres into this iconic landmark and one that is setting an exciting stage for a new era in our city,” Webster Mayor Donna Rogers said during the topping-out ceremony.
In November 2021, the city signed a purchase and sale agreement for the property with Great Wolf and approved a nearly $30 million incentives package for the development. That’s in addition to occupancy tax abatement by Harris County, estimated to total between $6.5 million and $10 million.
The construction involves close to 600 jobs, and Great Wolf said the lodge will create 500 permanent full- and part-time positions.
The company first met with city officials about the project in early 2019. The Webster location will be the 22nd Great Wolf Lodge in North America, though it might open around the same time as one in Naples, Florida. Another location also is under construction in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
The Webster resort will be one of Great Wolf Lodge’s first locations with the “Generation 4” design, which features a slightly larger water park, the newest slides and attractions, and different food and beverage options.
Unlike other water parks in the Houston area, Great Wolf Lodge is indoors, giving it the advantage to be open all year.
“It’s always 84 degrees; it’s never too hot; it’s never too cold; it’s never too windy,” Heezen said, adding that the Grapevine location is usually busiest when it’s hot outside. “As a father of two small kids, it’s nice not having to pile on that sunblock and all the other stuff and try to just stay in your swimsuit and enjoy the experience.”
The Great Wolf Lodge will be adjacent to another major development in Webster: Flyway, a 120-acre “destination development” with 1.6 million square feet of bars, restaurants and retailers plus an event lawn, which could house outdoor concerts and movie nights, as well as a boardwalk overlooking Clear Creek.
Infrastructure work is underway for Flyway, which is developed by the city of Webster. Houston-based Medistar, which was initially involved in the development, has retained about 20 acres for multifamily development, Medistar Senior Vice President Avi Elfezouaty told the Houston Business Journal last year.
The first confirmed tenant for Flyway is Chicken N Pickle, an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex with pickleball courts, yard games, a restaurant and sports bar.
“They seem to be bringing in a lot of attractions that currently don’t exist in the market,” Heezen said. “The reason that’s great for us is that families will get out into the community, and they want to do things that are authentic to the community, so they’ll stay longer, and they’re more likely to come back if they have a great experience in the community.”

Greg Abbott to appoint an interim attorney general in place of Ken Paxton’s top aide, who claimed the job in a terse memo soon after his boss was impeached and suspended from his duties. That aide, Brent Webster, is no better than Paxton, tainted as he is by his participation in Paxton’s alleged and confirmed schemes.
The attorney general’s office needs and deserves a better leader than Webster, and Abbott seems to agree. We were relieved when the governor on Wednesday appointed former Texas Secretary of State John B. Scott as interim attorney general while Paxton awaits an impeachment trial in the Senate.
Scott’s tenure as secretary of state was not without controversy, but we are confident he will do a better job leading the attorney general’s office than Webster would have.
In a recent memo, Webster boasted about the office’s record suing the Biden administration and defended Paxton, saying the state “has had no better elected official.” The sycophancy is pathetic. Never mind the accounts of more than two dozen current and former staffers who described an office in disarray, according to a 2022 investigation by The Associated Press.

That dysfunction sometimes spills into public view, as it did last year when the attorney general’s office dropped a series of human trafficking and child sexual assault cases after losing track of a victim.
Webster, first assistant attorney general, owns that mess as much as Paxton and was likely to be another drag on the office and its reputation. He joined Paxton’s unscrupulous crusade to get other states’ 2020 election results tossed based on bogus claims. The State Bar of Texas went to court to try to discipline Webster, but a district judge dismissed the lawsuit citing a lack of jurisdiction over the case. The state bar is appealing the ruling.
Most troubling is Webster’s alleged involvement in Paxton’s attacks on senior leaders in his agency who accused Paxton of taking bribes from a political donor and corrupting his office. Eight top aides, also conservative attorneys, made reports to law enforcement. Four of those whistleblowers sued after Paxton fired them, and their 129-page complaint is damning, not just to Paxton but to Webster.
According to the whistleblowers, Webster slashed their job duties, approached them with an armed guard as escort and placed them on administrative leave without any explanation in an apparent effort to intimidate them.
Add to this the defections of other prosecutors who told The Associated Press they left because of pressure to behave unethically or because of a hostile environment, and it’s no surprise that Abbott would look elsewhere for a leader to run an office that enforces child support laws, represents other state agencies in court and prosecutes human trafficking and other serious crimes.
Abbott himself skillfully ran the attorney general’s office for more than a decade, and Scott served as his deputy over civil litigation. As Texas’ new secretary of state in 2021, Scott caught flak for having briefly represented Donald Trump in his efforts to challenge the 2020 election. But we won’t compare Scott, who said he worked for the Trump campaign for one business day and who recognizes Joe Biden is the lawfully elected president, to Paxton and Webster, who jumped into the Big Lie with both feet.
Scott was also criticized for pursuing a series of election audits that were announced before Abbott installed him as the state’s chief elections official. Those audits, finalized last year just as Scott stepped down as secretary of state, found no evidence of widespread voter fraud. Scott had earlier praised Heider Garcia for effectively leading the Tarrant County elections department, one of the four counties targeted for audits.
We have high hopes that Scott will restore some order and respect to this crucial agency. Maybe he can remind Texas of the days when the attorney general’s office was a well-functioning arm of state government and not an embarrassment.

A new entertainment and lodging complex is taking shape in Webster with the announcement this week that bookings are now being accepted and that vertical construction of the $200 million Great Wolf Lodge Gulf Coast is complete.
On Wednesday, representatives from Turner Construction Company and Great Wolf Resorts Inc., marked the milestone with a topping out ceremony that included the placement of an 8-foot support beam on the roof of the indoor water resort, and a timeline for booking opportunities ahead of its November 2024 opening.
“Now the teams can really focus on bringing that next generation lodge to life on the inside of the building,” said Bryson Heezen, director of development at Great Wolf Lodge. “You’ll start seeing things move pretty quick, and it’s also a good time for us to be able to forecast when we can start booking rooms.”

The family-friendly indoor water park and resort sits on 27 acres east of the Gulf Freeway and south of the NASA Bypass and will be a centerpiece of the Flyway at Clear Creek development in Webster.
Reservations and bookings are now being accepted for stays for November 2024 and after, according to Heezen.
Great Wolf Lodge Gulf Coast Texas is the first in the Houston region and will be anchored by a 95,000-square-foot indoor water park to include a 58,000-square-foot adventure park. More than 500 family-friendly suites will be located within a retail and restaurant corridor.
“The topping out ceremony is a huge milestone for any construction project where we set the last structural member of the whole development,” said Andy Tandon, vice president and general manager at Turner Construction.
Completion of the vertical construction is also significant because it gives the public a glimpse of what’s to come when the destination resort and entertainment complex opens in late 2024 as work on the interiors begin.

“One of the things that really caught my attention when I got to the site (this week) was a giant pile of beautifully colored slide tubing (for the water park rides) in a corner of the site just poised and ready to be put into place,” said Jason Lasecki, vice president of communications at Great Wolf.
“When you drive by and you see that, that’s what really connects it to the fact that this is going to be a really fun place for families, and it brings to life the Great Wolf aspect of what we are.”
Great Wolf Lodge Gulf Coast’s centralized location between Houston and Galveston provides an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the amenities of the resort and Bay Area residents to vacation close to home, said John Murphy, chief executive officer for Great Wolf Resorts, in a press release.
“We’re looking forward to opening this resort and offering families across central and southeastern Texas with a close, convenient and carefree getaway destination, providing year-round family fun and experiences, attractions, and entertainment designed to help families strengthen their pack,” Murphy said.
In the next year, Great Lodge will be looking to hire 500 or more full and part time employees, or “pack members,” and expects to generate an economic boost to the region.
“We talk a lot about the physical nature of the resort and how it’s going to be a next-generation lodge and bring something new to Webster, but it’s our pack members and the experience that is as or more important than the physical elements of Great Wolf,” Heezen said.
The development is located on a 27-acre site in Harris County, east of the Gulf Freeway and south of the NASA Bypass and will serve as an anchor for the Flyaway at Clear Creek development representing an investment of more than $200 million by Great Wolf Lodge’s shareholders, Blackstone and Centerbridge Partners.
Reservations can now be made with a special limited time offer using promotional code COUNTDOWN before Sept. 10, 2023, for stays between Nov. 15, 2024, and Feb. 28, 2025.
The COUNTDOWN promotional code unlocks up to a 30 percent discount on room rates, with one-night reservations unlocking a 25 percent discount, and reservations of two nights or more will have a 30 percent discount.
The 95,000-square-foot indoor waterpark — heated to a comfortable 84 degrees — will consist of a variety of body slides, tube slides, raft rides, activity pools and splash areas for all ages all year round.
A 61,000-square-foot entertainment center, the Great Wolf Adventure Park, will include several features, including MagiQuest — a live-action-adventure game where players use interactive magic wands to battle goblins and dragons and exclusive to Great Wolf.
A range of dining options will be offered — from pizza and burgers to more upscale dining experiences and artisan ice cream at Wood’s End Creamery.
Great Wolf-themed suites will come in a variety of categories and styles and include separate sleeping quarters for kids designed in log cabin or wolf den-style trappings. The resort will also have larger, multi-bedroom suites for families or groups.
